Today Mrs.Bailey gave us a fraction slideshow to work on.
Here is my fraction slideshow.
I was a student at Awahono School in Greymouth and this is where I shared my learning.
In the summer holidays Mrs.Bailey challenged us with these instructions
Choose a book that you have read over the holiday. Re-read it to ensure you have a good understanding of what it is about. Brainstorm the main parts from the story and what you liked about it and what you disliked about it.
Here is my story
CARLA’S SANDWICHES
Written by Debbie Herman
Illustrated by Sheila Bailey
Carla is a girl who likes to be different from others. Everyday Carla brings a unique sandwich but her friends don’t like her choice. Carla gets very disappointed when her friends tease her for the types of sandwiches she brings for her lunch. Her friends think that a salmon, pretzel, tomato sauce and jelly bean in a sandwich is gross. However on a school picnic when Buster didn’t bring his sandwich he tried Carla’s sandwich. Surprisingly he loved it and his classmates did too and they never teased Carla again.
Why I liked or dislike the story
I really liked the story because it teaches me that we should not hurt feelings of others and not to judge someone as we never know the same person might help us one day.
I would recommend this book to all age groups.
This book is a fiction book.
